Chemical Attacks and British Politics : Westminster : London UK

Well, British Prime Minister David Cameron appears to have misjudged the UK internal politics of launching a military attack on the regime of President Bashar Hafez al-Assad of Syria. Since the flagrant crossing of the Obama 'red line' with Assad's forces apparently launching a horrific chemical weapon attack in Damascus, Cameron has been talking about Britain acting in concert with America to take part in a limited retaliatory strike. Probably a missile strike or an air attack designed to show there are major consequences for the Assad regime if it launches illegal chemical or biological weapons atrocities against its own people. As part of that push Cameron recalled parliament from its summer recess to get a vote in support of military action but the British Parliament has in a shock move just now voted against military action. It rather appears that Britain has simply left the 'coalition of the willing'.
