I love this piece of art ....... 'House' ........ by Roy Lichtenstein ......... It is right now my favorite piece of sculpture ......... partly because it is so amazing ......... and endlessly fascinating to look at ........ and partly because I associate it with happy times in my life ....... therefore I find it just a joyful thing .......... associated with vacation in the Hamptons ....... with strolling in the 'National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden' on the Mall in DC ........ and now today a relaxing day at the 'The High Museum of Art' in Atlanta .......... I was suprised to see it at first ........ I should not have been ........ Dorothy Lichtenstein herself had been recommending the fantastic work done by the High to me ........ Today I had to think about my relationship with Atlanta......... I have almost been guilty of using Atlanta as a Delta hub........... It really is a City of fantastic culture and character ......... you know something ? ........ I should get out more............ :-))))))

But it is not just amazing sculpture at the High.......... The photography was stunning too ........ totally inspiring.......... 'Revisting The South: Richard Misarach's Cancer Alley' ........... totally owns the room downstairs ......... mega large scale photography......... literally awe inspiring ........ telling mournful images...........

Upstairs as part of The High's commissioned program of work 'Picturing the South' ..... exhibitions by Kael Alford, Martin Parr and Shane Lavalette................. Fantastic work ......... and I was privileged to be able to listen to Shane give an artists talk in the gallery with his work around him .......... His emphasis was looking at the South through an engagement with of traditional music....... He talked about traveling through nine states, focusing on the Deep South and stopping in musically significant towns like Memphis and Clarksdale, Miss. But he also sought out less obvious locales, like the homes and birthplaces of musicians he admired and of new friends along the way. He was camping for some of those travels....... Giving a feeling for life in the woods and the rural South. He shocked me by saying that he only shot film and travelled the whole summer before getting a single roll processed.......... Hardcore.......

I cannot recommend a visit to the High Museum of art in Atlanta highly enough........ if you have a chance especially any time soon ....... get round there.......... :-))))))))) XXXXXXXXXXX
