I'd been hanging out at the Artists Community at Trinity Buoy Wharf East London all day working on an assignment......... at the end of the day I saw the giant rope and tyre swing and the giant hula hoop........... ???? Angela Yeates and Lisamarie Harris told me they had been set a brief by St Martin’s in the domain of play. (They are students at St Martin's........ CSM Fine Art Year 1)............ They told me.......... "Play incorporates developmental compulsion to explore boundaries through experimentation, challenge and adventure. Real play comes when you lose yourself in an activity. This theme encouraged a series of site specific installations."

They and their friends were swinging and messing for hours........ crazily at first...... by the end........ their friend Molly-Clare O Donnell ...... is still swinging on the rope swing but in a kind of fetal position inside the tyre..............

'You don't cease to play because you grow old, you grow old because you cease to play.' George Bernard Shaw
