Its well gone 4AM in Chicago........ I got up at 5-30 AM West Virginia Time......... I am seriously out of it now...... I shot more mines today in West Virginia and again rode in the chopper both to photograph the mining operations from overhead but also to use the chopper as a quick method of moving between the mines some were all the way down in Kentucky.

Here is something I shot at 8-00AM this morning as we flew over Charleston WV.......... the sun is reflecting off the Kanawha River....... the helicopter windows are like huge sun glasses ......... normally when we were in position I would ask the pilot to bring it to a hover so I could open the window and shoot without the sunglasses effect....... but while we were traveling I mostly had the window shut....... so i was shooting through the sunglasses as it were...... for this...... and other images as we hopped from mine to mine.......

PS........ Matt this motel is just a trifle dodgy....... someone is hammering on a neighbouring door........ door a couple are screaming at each other......... the guy is locked out she is screaming for him to stay out.........
