The Alabama State Capitol, also known as First Confederate Capitol, is located on Goat Hill in Montgomery, Alabama. The structure was built in 1851. The bird sits on top of the head of a statue of Statue of John Allan Wyeth a confederate soldier, surgeon and author 1845-1922.
