I love a guy with a flag. Especially one who hangs out and waves it nonchalantly ignoring you. I spoke to him after Id shot these pictures. Chris is local and comes every year to a different spot on the Mall and has been bringing his flag for over 20 years. He was laughing with his mom about the time back in 1983 (before cellphones) when he had told her to look out for the guy waving the flag....... er .....there is more than one on the 4th of July........ it took her over 3 hours to find him........ but she did in the end.
