This is the bus stop where a young black man was stabbed to death. The original police investigation into his murder was so poor and neglectful that in the end an enquiry found the police had been institutionally racist.

Today 19 years later two people have finally been found guilty of his murder. At last...... something approaching justice for Stephen and his long suffering and dignified parents.

The fact that this has finally happened is specifically down to improvements in the techniques and science of crime scene analysis ............ but really the original police inadequacy and racism was exposed and hounded by the Daily Mail........ only constant reporting made the police do something .......... The Mail at one point put pictures of the murderers on their front Page......... with the headline 'These people murdered Stephen Lawrence......... and if they didn't they can sue us'.......... they did not sue.................

You know there is nothing more hateful than racist murderers.......... and rubbish racist policemen........ and you know how I love a bit of muscular press freedom... and press action seeking justice.... even if it breaks the law........ Well done Daily Mail...........

Stephen Lawrence was such a studious, well behaved, and very well liked young man with fantastic prospects, loved by his family and friends with his whole life in front of him...... he was just waiting politely at the bus stop. The only reason he was picked on and stabbed was because of the color of his skin. It's such a disgusting crime..... it cries out for action...... for justice ..... finally two of the five man gang will now go to prison hopefully eventually the others will join them.
