I am still on the Hostile Environment Course run by Centurion ........ all the video and pictures of catastrophic damage to peoples bodies....... from mines and explosions........ starts to grind you down in the end ......... Sure it makes you concentrate on the first aid in case this was your friend and college ............. but it is grim........

Today we also watched video of crowds turning on individuals......... the nightmare scenario for an individual photographer........ and cops turning on crowds in riot situations......... all sorts of stuff you can face as a journo ....... they even showed clips from things I had previously covered like the Poll Tax riots......... We discussed all the strategy and methodology to make sure the bad stuff does not happen to you.

We worked on scenarios at Check points and more first aid ........ with roll playing and exercises ........... It was fun and tough in equal measure.......

Anyway, in the end we all felt we all deserved a beer........ so we headed out to the local pub........ and amazingly....... won the local pub quiz tournament while having a few beers :-))))))))))))))))))))

I've never even done a pub quiz nor had any of my team....... so it was beginners luck :-))))))) ......... Our team "The Stop !!!!!!!! Get Down Team" ........... had a fair few advantages with having people who lived in Central and South America being able to answer the colors of the Mexican Flag etc ....... and I live in NYC so was in with a better chance than most being able to name the building at 5th Av and 34th St............. blah blah........ it was fun and with our winning pot we bought all the other competitors a beer........ so I don't think our victory was begrudged too much by the locals :-)))))))))))

PS.........
