Tonight ....... I went to the world premier of the last of the Harry Potter movies............ it was fantastic ........ I actually met with some of the actors........ and famous footballers who play with Arsenal and England...... I even chatted to Jonathon Ross ..... Amin's Favorite Brit :-))))) ......... It was a slightly out of control mega glittering event ..........I enjoyed wondering around on the red carpet in Trafalgar Square and Leicester Sq...... it was a totally huge event biggest Premier by far that I have ever seen................ tens of thousands maybe hundreds of thousands waited in the rain........ it was great fun........ and the movie itself was great...... miles better than the one before......... this was a fine and fitting end to the movie series.
These Death Eaters were in a little recreation of Diagon Alley halfway down the massive red carpet between the start of it all in Trafalgar and the end at the Odeon Leicester Square.
Looking at this image now.......... I am tempted to combine it with a mention of death being visited upon the News of the World......... Unbelievably the 'News of The World' has today suddenly been announced to be closing...... after 168 years the final paper will be produced on Sunday.......... In response to all the clamor over phone hacking..........
At least the Guardian Editor Allan Rusbridger sounded slightly ashamed at having brought another newspaper to its death. He said nobody had called for that. But actually columnists on the Guardian had called on advertisers to boycott the NoW in an attempt to kill it through destroying its revenue streams. The BBC broadcasters on air live on Radio 4's PM show seemed genuinely shocked at the news....... They mumbled things about the journalists jobs and the papers contribution....... Then they got their stride back and continued to call for Rebecca Brooks CEO of News International to resign and started to refer to the papers closure as a cynical management move ....... so this incredible move to try and stop damage to the rest of News International ...... and destroying a whole swathe of Fleet Street power........ is not enough for them.
Lets face it........ It is pretty drastic stuff....... Britains top selling Sunday newspaper is now closing down....... threatening all 200 journalists with losing their jobs.............. over things that happened years ago....... when most of them were not even working there .........
Oh yeah...... The News of the World won scoop of the year at this years press awards........ they won't be around to investigate corruption in sport next year......... so Pakistani Cricketers can fix the games without the fear of the fabled 'News of the World' Journalism 'Red in Tooth and Claw' to expose them.........
Nah..... we don't want any full on investigations ..... lets have more corruption in sport shall we......... like the corruption in FIFA we love that ........ anyway we have the BBC to expose that..... oh no they don't like to rock the boat too much ....... oh no that was all brought to our attention by 'The Sunday Times' another bit of News International ........ no we don't want any proper hard core tabloid journalism lets have government paid for polite journalism of the BBC and polite interviews with Hugh Grant so he can promote his latest film properly ........... We won't need to worry about corruption in Parliament or anywhere elsewhere ........ Lets be a bit more like in Russia where no one writes about corruption (if they have any sense) or China where no one writes about the Government because of proper good old style 'State Regulation of the Press'........ yes who wants unruly, unfathomable, unpredictable, tabloid journalism, that does what people seem to want and enjoy .......
I was never a big buyer of the News of the World....... but actually it was the top selling Sunday Paper in Britain....... it certainly had a roll......... and I kind of liked the Fake Sheik stings on the corrupt...... I will miss it.
Cheers Jez XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
PS......... this post did not make sense at the end....... I was tired (and emotional hehehehe...) last night........ I had to change it just to get back to what passes as english on this blog......... :-)))))))))
