British Prime minister David Cameron's slagging off multiculturalism on Saturday looked like a pretty poorly timed thing for him to do with racist thugs of the EDL marching on the streets of Luton on the same day.

But to be fair to Cameron discussing issues of integration and culture and standing up against extremism is not racism.

I really hate to be accused of that myself because I am critical of religion. I am critical of pretty well all religion of any stripe most of the time. But when you are critical of certain types of religion it is thought by some to be racist.

I find particularly frightening a religion that punishes people that want to leave by putting them to death ........ er........ I don't know........ is it just me............. or is this kind of thing totally terrifying?

Just this weekend I read of a young girl whipped to death in a Bengali village as a Sharia punishment ........ and a man sentenced to die in Afghanistan because he has converted to Christianity from Islam........... I find this stuff enormously depressing and I must say I don't find any where near enough condemnation of it in mainstream Islam for my taste.

I guess mainstream Islam........ is like the rest of us.................. just totally terrified of fascist Islam.
