Drama drama ......... sometimes the petty drama of traveling gets me down....... not really down ..... but just bugs me ........
The hotel wants to randomly charge an extra day.......... 'yes Matt rang to confirm you were coming a day early' ......... they said when I arrived ....... er....... as if I don't speak to Matt every 10 minutes....... as if he does not know what i am doing.......... as if I don't know that is a direct lie........ Im asked to sign for this extra random day when I arrive......... effectively its a cancellation charge but they have hidden it in the usual room rates........ amazingly I see it .... so I cross it off ...... Im clear with them I will not pay it ....... especially as they have directly lied to me to trick me into casually signing for it ...... especially as it is hidden as a night that I stayed when it is actually a cancellation fee........... I tell them I don't stay in hotels that randomly add stuff to the bill ....... I'll move out if they keep it on the bill ........ I am told a manager will address it ........ later that same day I ask if it has been addressed..... the person behind the desk is not clear....... but says again a manager will be addressing it for me........ for the next couple of days I am very busy shooting till really late....... going out early I don't ask about it again ............ when I go to check out....... still no cancellation fee........ but yes another day added on as if I came a day earlier than I did........... yeah no one has changed a bloody thing....... now of course its too late to move out....... they have fully conned me ...... as far as they are concerned absolutely all charges stand even for random nights when i was not there.
I am annoyed by this clearly...... there was plenty of time to tell me while I was there in fact if they were gonna insist on this from the beginning....... I could have stayed one night cancelled the rest and given them no further money.
Of course this messing about took up vital minutes as I was checking out......... of course a manager could only pretend to address my issue at the very end of my stay wasting my critical time when I need to roll to the airport........
Even the garage downstairs has randomly added an extra days parking for no good reason......... I haven't even got time to argue..........
No time to even fill the car....... No doubt huge refueling bill from the rental company...........
Delta fly out of a different Terminal than the obvious one I arrived at...........
US immigration stuff has to be cleared in Toronto ....... Canada .......... er......... not as you would expect in Atlanta when you land in the glorious US of A ......... that all takes ages of course .......... in the end.......... I missed my flight by a matter of seconds they shut the door as i am racing across the terminal.......... certainly I missed it by a lot less time than I spoke to the hotel about the random extra charge......... ah yes the joy.
Delta are cool...... they rapidly get me on another flight....... so finally I make it to the big ATL ........ but unfortunately my main bag is still in Canada......... not that the lights have ever worked since Montreal airport security did them in taking all the fuses........... more Joy :-))

PS........ I know they are not red ............ but this image reminds me of this song ........ Red Shoes by the Drugstore Tom Waits from Blue Valentine. ........... I love this album........ not really in day light......... it really is night music........ :-))
