I rolled down to Margate to shoot a job today........ its a funny place........ one of the first vacation spots by the sea ever....... really the first of the seaside destinations that sprung up all round Britain back in the early days of affordable passenger trains ...... Mind you Margate's day as 'The' destination has come and gone long ago........ now its major 1950's Theme Park 'Dreamland' is abandoned and derelict....... as is a fair bit of commercial property in the town .......... and yet its all kind of bouncing back thanks to an ambitious plan to revitalize Margate through the arts and creative business'....... they are most of the way through constructing a spectacular new art gallery on the front........ The Turner Contemporary.......... I think the whole place will be mega when its done....... I already liked Margate as it is now :-))) XXXXXXXXX

PPS.......... The person central in this shot is using a metal detector............ Ive never really fancied doing that........ until last week when I saw this......... how mighty would it be to uncover this amazing thing.............
