I was shooting in Tennessee yesterday....... I was photographing something else...... Keith says ...... er...... 'You might want to take a look at this'....... he was right the light was totally extraordinary......... with sunlight pretty well only on the weird visible building on the skyline........ it appeared to be 10 stops up on the rest of the landscape....... I tried to expose for it...... and let the rest of the scene go to almost darkness matching the sky beyond........ it makes a pretty weird shot........ Then when I asked in the little town about the prominent building on the ridge....... It was like a movie...... "Oh that'll be Old Hamble Hall..... no one has been up there since the Master went mad and killed his whole family ....... back in 1932..... you would do best to keep away from that place........ bad things happen up on Bloodied Wolf Ridge" ............ Well it wasn't quite that bad but it is apparently a library with a slightly grim history, The Templeton Library, that has apparently never opened properly...... as a student slid into a trash compactor while messing about using the trash chute as a slide........ I wasn't able to stand this story up on the web ...... it has, lets face it....... the ring of gossip as opposed to real truth ...... It might be true....... Lets hope its not true...... but I did not try too hard to disprove it.......
