I was getting this picture ready to be used in an upcoming magazine piece..........
I shot it on a travellers site below the raised section of highway called the Westway in Central London.
I was thinking about children living in poverty as on Friday it was the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child............. Time magazine has a piece to spotlight the treaty's achievements over the past two decades and the challenges ahead. Time Unbelievably Britain has one of the worst rates of child poverty in the industrialized world....... in London 4 in 10 children are living in poverty (according to the End Child Poverty Campaign)
The British Government has just announced it plans to bring new legislation to address child poverty in Britain......
Its debatable whether this legislation can end child poverty by 2020..... as it is supposed to.......... and more than possible it will never even make it on to the statute books........... but what is for sure.......... some kids in London won't get enough to eat today.
