They are thinking of changing the law here in the UK to make it easier to convict men who are serial violent abusers of their partners. Some are worried that this undermines the safety of convictions by effectively lowering the standard of proof required. Men could be convicted for a continual pattern of behavior as opposed to being convicted of violent attack in one particular incident. Its fair to worry.... people who go to prison must really be guilty. But some women suffer years of abuse....... if some kind of register were kept of previous incidents even if they did not lead to conviction maybe individual women could avoid getting into relationships with dangerous men in the first place.......

I was looking on the violence against women file of things I have shot....... I have one set of pictures I shot while working with an ambulance crew here in London...... I have photographs of a woman her face beaten to a pulp her clothing soaked in blood....... She had been attacked by her husband....... This is something you are not about to forget in a hurry....... that incident really brought home to me the horror, the seriousness and the sheer misery caused by of these crimes....... I thought about putting up one of the pictures...... but I couldn't quite face it myself...... it clearly illustrates totally graphically the nature of the problem...... but its so hard to look at .............

So I put this picture up instead................ of an anonymous woman in hiding after she has escaped from her violent husband.............. she is pictured in a woman's shelter in South London.......
