Its Mandela day....... It's Nelson Mandela's Birthday...... today he is 91. Nelson Mandela really is the one person who's personal qualities and political vision merged with his leadership....... his suffering, endurance and resilience...... his personal and political triumph over adversity and injustice...... his lasting achievements in the field of democracy, human rights, justice, reconciliation and peace making......... combine to make him a hero to all. I certainly think that to have a worldwide day always marked in recognition of this truly exceptional man would be amazing and completely the right thing to do.

'Mandela Day celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world, the ability to make an imprint'

“We would be honored if such a day can serve to bring together people around the world to fight poverty and promote peace and reconciliation,” according to a statement issued on Mr Mandela’s behalf.

Mandela Day organizers encouraged people to donate their time to charities and community groups and to devote at least a minute for each of the 67 years Mandela campaigned against apartheid to community service.

Sadly I did not know about this 67 minutes pledge myself...... until today......... maybe I should try and sneak in some worthwhile activity into the next few weeks...... next year i will try to honor Mandela Day with a little work on a cause he would approve of...............

Happy Birthday Nelson Mandela!!!!!!!

Cheers Jez XXXXXXX

Amin.......... I know I have put up this image before......... I know know....... but I love it man........ I love Mandela......... I love this picture....... its Mandela Day....... dont tell me I can't even repost this? Hehehehe :-))
