When they park their bikes and go on foot to the Wall some of their bravado is gone. The groups of bikers are quiet and respectful as they remember........ at the Wall on Memorial Day...... grief for the lost friends and comrades returns from across the years........ the old soldiers remember their fellow warriors....... the ones that did not return ......... the Wall carved with all the names of the American fallen in the Vietnam War is a very evocative place for anyone....... for the Vietnam Vets this place is a holy place........ many old soldiers weep for their fallen brothers.

This picture shows J.R Matthey a 57 year old Vietnam Vet who has ridden up from West Virginia with his girlfriend Debie Radabaugh.

PS......... Dennys is going up in my opinion......... it still sells the breakfasts that will later supply you the massive fatal heart attack........ but hey at least it now has free wifi ........ I am blogging now from Denny's near the airport in Grand Rapids Michigan...... I flew out of DC in the early evening....... its now about 2 AM ....... its pretty bad coffee ........ and not particularly healthy food lets face it....... and yet there is something marvelous about a 24 hour Denny's with free Wifi.
