Me and Matt went to the dump today in DC....... we were having a long overdue spring clean at the Insight Office in DC....... cos we have virtually no time for this kind of thing we end up doing it in a totally ineffecient way.... dumping file cabinets and other reasonably useful items....... I felt like a total scum bag........ although we did give a homeless guy a pretty mega old North Face sleeping bag....... but being at the tip really makes you feel sick.... just the inefficiency and the waste.... the trash and all the pollution....... yeah delivering stuff down there with out having explored the proper options for giving it away or even selling it......... hey its not right...... you start to really feel Lynda has a point about commercialism and consumption..... it must be doing us in(see her comments on Jezblog yesterday)..... all that consumption looks and feels pretty costly to people and the planet looking over any trash tip or landfill site.

I shot this on my iphone..... i could watch instead of participate....... I could pretend I was not responsible for the waste and just watch Matt kick it out of our U-Haul van.

Marc do you see that black frame leg in the foreground of this...... its a bit of desk from the London office (Red Lion Sq)..... sad to see it in this tragic state eh? ........ i guess it comes to us all.

Other bits of old Insight office furniture are still having a long and productive life........ if you can see this link below..... you may have to be a friend of BarryJ's to see it here on facebook......... but if you can see it you get to see me at the age of about 20 BarryJ at maybe 16? and a small desk top filing cabinet from the Coronet St Insight office (2nd ever Insight office London) ........ but Zak Waters has commented on that pic and claims to still have the file cabinet and still be using it....... !!!
