I went to visit and photograph Ben 'Cooter 'Jones at his home in Virginia last week. Here is 'Crazy Cooter' in a thoughtful moment........ he is thoughtful more often than you might think if you only think of Ben Jones as the character 'Crazy Cooter' from the 'Dukes of Hazzard'....... in fact if you don't know the story of Ben Jones life you might be completely amazed....... I know I was ..... on taking a peek at his interesting...... funny and moving new autobiography............. Red Neck Boy in the Promised Land ............most surprising to the poorly informed : Ben Jones was elected to the United States Congress from the Fourth District of Georgia ......... and he's a Democrat !! He is a proper redneck with all those Southern Boy's sensibilities ....... he really is a Red Neck ........who is comfortable with Confederate Flag ........ but he is certainly not a racist ......... and he is a serious supporter of Obama.... and is actively campaigning for him. You know what...... Ben 'Cooter' Jones is a great guy............ you can read more in The Times UK by my old mate Ben McIntyre. MacIntyre writes about Jones his politics and the position and politics of the so called Red Necks...... if you look at Red Neck Boy in the Promised Land you know that Jones is the perfect person to interpret rural Southern working people and their culture to the East Coast urban Crew of the Obama campaign ....... which has been part of his importance to the Obama Campaign.
