My old mate Justin Webb of the BBC claims Joe Biden is a little gift to American politics created by Vladimir Putin and that only six weeks ago no one round at the Obama camp would have given Joe a second thought....... Its only by the Kremlin recreating the cold war do we suddenly appear to need a foreign policy specialist..... some one who has been to Georgia and who knows his 'Stans (Khazakstan...Tajikistan etc......) Today I ended up at the Spy Museum here in DC....... It obviously devotes a great deal of its space to the cold war....... Its pretty depressing to see what went on back then...... and its certainly depressing to watch the newly oil rich Russia slide back to authoritarianism and now again is threatening its neighbors....... oh well maybe Obama is right to choose Joe.
