When I was a kid we would never stop....... my parents would say "There is the White Horse!" and somehow you would fail to see it ........ you almost didn't believe in it....... then another time you would see it clearly but still never stop....... hey you know what...... its great to be old enough to drive your own car and stop where ever you want. This White Horse was first carved into the hillside at the time of KIng Alfred the Great it was thought to commemorate a victory in battle over Viking raiders.
