So I thought I'd shoot something today of Taxis in Central Park..... with autumn leaves...... but I timed it badly..... and missed the late afternoon light.......... it was all getting a little dark by the time I arrived........ in the end...... I ended up hanging about in this tunnel under the park as night fell ......... vehicles rolled on past and the odd very rare pedestrian walked by............ I had a distinct sense of deja vu .............. I was reminded of the start of my life in photography.......... at the age of 16 i was living in Birmingham in the UK....... a city with many, many underpasses, tunnels for both pedestrians and traffic........ I was interested in and afraid of these underpasses........... back then I was often making silhouettes of human outlines against these grim looking inhospitable urban environments........ this tunnel in NYC has no street lighting at all........ the man is silhouetted against the lights cast by passing vehicles.
