The students hold hands in a moment of silence around the flag. It flies like all flags across America on this day; at half-mast in respect and remembrance. This flag is outside the Campus administration building, right next door to Norris Hall, scene of the mass killings.
The students stand together in this shot but also collectively. They are amazingly united and supportive of each other and of their President and Police Chief who are under some pressure over their role and the decisions they took on the critical day. I heard no one say either should resign or be dismissed. That group loyalty in tough times is impressive and rare in this day and age.
