Right now as I write ........ Im flying between Manila in the Philippines and Guangzhou in China ......... Sometimes the sheer zapping about has a fantastic uplifting effect on me ......... sometimes it just completely does me in ......... weirdly today its a bit of both ........... I feel happy to be zapping about in a bit of the world I don't come to much ...... but some of the mechanics of travel ..... the grim airport hotel in Manila ......... the car rental company bla blah ....... have been doing my brains in today ........ it has been a bit of a hassley day ..... the sink would not drain in my hotel room ...... the shower was cold ....... the room had no windows no TV no wifi ........ I kept bumping my head on the ceiling ........ it really was like being in a prison cell ......... arguing with the car rental company to return the deposit etc etc ......... oh yeah and the air conditioning system had failed for the whole the airport for good measure ............. making all the madness of Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport even more hot and hassley and even more claustrophobic and intense...... if that could be possible ........ the flight was delayed inevitably but this was not announced until I had left the lounge with its plug in air con machine........ and so I was then trapped in a Russian style sealed departure gate that you cannot leave sweating away and without internet etc ......... ah yes its been a planes trains and automobiles kind of a day ......... and yet and yet ........ I feel happy to be zapping about in a bit of the world I don't come to often :-)))))))))))))) XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Any way I read in the Manilla Bulletin on the plane ....... you are supposed to do a selfie ......... its global selfie day as well as Earth Day ........ in fact you are supposed to do a specific thing with a sign saying where you are and upload it to a NASA page as part of Earth Day ? ......... tragically I don't have time for that....... but hey ...... here is a selfie from a nice Hotel I was staying in up in the City of Angeles.

PS.......... Since the flight I've had a pile of hassle with Chinese immigration and buses and hotel etc ................. blah bla............ usual stuff.......... gotta kip
