Cyprus is a surprising place........ I was once on the green line between Northern and Southern Cyprus........ Between the Turkish and the Greek sides of the island ........ Between the Christian and the Muslim communities .......... The green line is the cease fire line still not a properly accepted international border........... its still disputed with the odd shot fired even 40 years after the invasion and partition by Turkey. The immenent collapse of the banks there in Cyprus right now is yet another just too drastic a chapter for such a small place........

This picture shows brand new cars ready to be sold in their showroom........ Accept they were brand new in 1974......... and then were trapped here unsold uncared for in no mans land between the warring parties......... as they were on the green line they remained in no-mans land for the next 40 years now they are of course completely out of date without ever even having left the showroom.
