This evening ........... I was at the Ian Parry Scholarship private view ........ the award ceremony and exhibition of the winners work......... It was nice....... but sad....... to once more raise a glass to Ian Parry himself ............. and then look round at all the inspiring work on display............. I even got to have a nice chat with the overall winner Adrian Fussell .......... he was a great guy and his work " My Name is Victory " is fantastic of course............ but you know I enjoyed the evening most because it was a lovely time with all my old mates some of whom I have not seen for years ......... Roger Hutchins, Zed Nelson, Jon Jones, Aidan Sullivan, HarrietLogan, Dod Miller, Steve Forrest, Julio Etchart, Adam Hinton, Tom Stoddard all photojournalists from back in the day....... and a ton of other picture desk folks and agency people........ it really was a great evening ......... really tons of great people from the world of photojournalism ......... amazing youngsters just setting out on their careers........ right through to the odd person introduced as a 'National Treasure'......... including the person whose work inspired me to become a photojournalist in the first place ......... always an honor and a pleasure to speak with the man himself......... Mr Don McCullin.
