I was sad to hear Lionel Batiste has died......... the famed jazz drummer and singer and band leader...... known to most through his work on the HBO series New Orleans series “Treme” (truh-MAY) ...... as assistant leader of its Jazz band......... the story that amazes me most about Batiste is that he survived the Katrina Hurricane flooding by floating on his drum ............. he was obviously a Jazzman with stories to tell.
