Christopher Hitchens has died today. I admired his his passion for modern decency. His eloquence as a speaker and forceful no nonsense highly educated truthful 'tell it like it is debating' he matched with a keen wit and sense of humor. He was never scared to take a position that most others would be afraid to articulate ........ When I saw the title of his best seller : "God is not Great" ........ I laughed out loud at the sheers audacity of it ........ Yes, I admired him greatly...... and I was lucky enough to have had a few beers with him on a couple of occasions ......... shame he is now gone....... The world really needs more like him ...... a bright light of decency has gone out........ as Salman Rushdie said today : "A great voice falls silent. A great heart stops."
