Well Hurricane Irene passed by not doing terrible damage to most buildings or people in New York ....... although of course there were fatalities and serious damage as the storm came in over North Carolina and on up the New England....... so I don't want to sound too flippant ........... I got some water damage at my apartment......... annoyingly the storm must have ripped up part of the buildings roof so water came into the structure then started seeping into my apartment .............. I am not even there........ but the building Super is on it........ obviously this is irritating but on the scale of things not so bad............. hopefully all my hard drives and kit have survived ???

Having been to Joplin a town devastated by tornadoes earlier this year I've developed a lot more respect for what storms and drastic weather can do in the worst case scenarios.

Matt was always incredulous that I once took a shower rather than heading for a tornado shelter when we were in Chattanooga a while back ....... he of course being an adopted Georgia boy wanted to do the right thing ........ I ignored the TV warnings and sirens ....... it was 6AM hard to get up and not shower i thought ....... but since having been to Joplin ........ I will never do that again......... when I hear those tornado warnings I will take them seriously.......... even back in that Chattanooga incident people did die .......... yeah there were injuries and fatalities downtown while I was showering in a hotel just out of the center a little .......... I know madness......... :-////////

Anyway if you are suffering from water damage or other peeving storm related damage........ I know its peeving........ way peeving ....... and expensive and time consuming....... and so irritatingly random......... but bare in mind....... it really could be a lot worse......... so much worse...... if you... your friends and family are all unhurt........ hey...... thats the main thing :-/// :-)
