Last night 007H..... my ol' mate and mega Creative Director dude rang me : " Im standin' on the steps to MoMA with a spare ticket to a mighty party... you had better get round here mate" ....... Sounded like an offer too good to miss ....... so I dived in a cab and rolled to meet H at the AICP awards party....... or rather their 'Black tie Reception in the Abby Aldrich Rockerfeller Sculpture Garden and MoMa Galleries' ........ as it just so happened..... I was not wearing black tie....... of course I would normally be.... most evenings....... hehehe............ er...... so I was shall we say...... well you know ...... ever so slightly underdressed for the event ........ but hey its the normal state of affairs for me ....... :-))))))
As I came in through the door with H...... this (see pic above) was the first sight to greet my eyes........ I thought woooooow he is right this appears to be a mighty party :-))))))) hehehehe ....... and its started without me ....... hehehehe......... :-))))))))
Manhattan was just boiling this morning and very bright .......... I heard 98 degrees coming out of the radio......... in fact I also heard 'feels like 108 degrees if you include the humidity factor ' ........ again it was seriously hot hot hot and very dazzling ...... way too hot and bright unless you were born on the sun ....... anyway way tricky for us NYC Brits ....... and to make it worse the yellow cab I took to the La Guardia airport had no air con ........ ah yes...... that really was a joy......... :-////// :-)))))
I got on the flight and just as the doors were closing they announced we were off to 'Kansas City Missouri' .......... er........ That sounds wrong....... seriously wrong....... I thought I was going to Kansas City..... 'Kansas'........ after a slightly panicked conversation with my next seat neighbor...... I became aware Kansas City Missouri and Kansas City Kansas are right next to each other....... apparently just on the other side of the River but in different States ...... so panic over :-))))) ......... I was remembering once having a drama involving a muddle between Augusta Maine and Augusta Georgia....... I was clutching a ticket from one and I was at the other......... now those two really are a very long way apart ............. I thought for a minute it was gonna be another one of those Paris France? No Paris Texas! .... mess ups....... but the panic was thankfully short lived.
Mind you...... Not that even Kansas City Kansas would have been the right place as it turns out ......... cos just before I got on my flight ...... I finally learned by text...... really I should be going to Omaha Nebraska......... Agggghhhh ?????...... oh well....... I am vaguely heading to the right neck of the woods ...... well sort of ....... so Im gonna have to drive a fair old way to get out of Missouri then Kansas and make it all the way to Nebraska........... I understand it's a good 3 hours plus drive...... to get us back on track .......... Joy
So I am on the flight right now....... Kicking back ...... sitting up front pleasantly upgraded by Delta......... on the flight to Kansas City Missouri from NYC ........... should be 'wheels down' in a couple of hours......... but then there is another couple of hours to wait for C my writer college to fly in from DC ....... Come to think of it..... I'd better check which version of Kansas City she is arriving at ...... Then when she lands we will have to burn off to Nebraska by trusty rental car............ One thing is for sure....... it's gonna be a pretty late one :-//////// :-)

PS......... This was last nights blog but I entered the twilight no wifi zone ..... so I could not post it till now............ since I wrote this I have been out with Reed Timmer and the most excellent Storm Chasers of the Discovery Channel.......... they are great guys........ but you know what those dudes are crazed........ we drove nearly a thousand miles across 4 States chasing those mega storms its now 3AM again......... just gotta kip......... zzzzzzzzzzzz
