I got off the plane in Atlanta........ Matt picked me up...... and we rolled off to watch a gig at Center Stage........... Cake......... I know it's nutz to get straight off a 9 hour flight then go straight to a gig ............. especially when it starts at the UK time of 2AM...... but hey........ they were great......... there was only one problem ........ as ever....... NO PHOTOS ........... what's that about?

I had my pockets checked by security on the door ............. they wouldn't allow me in with the NEX5 pocket camera that I had on me........ even though on the web it had said cameras fine...... but no pro cameras ..... so I had to put the little Sony back in the car.

While I was gone they apparently made an anouncement saying security guys in the crowd would remove anyone shooting pics with phones or even that the security guys would just take away the phones.......... weird stuff........ what is all that about ?

Cake were saying they have left the big evil record companies....... so this is their own thing........? The security guy on the gate was specific that it was not a venue requirement......... So its the band ?........ But why ????? Just such weird stuff ???????

Anyway I took a few frames on my iPhone............ cos its the principal of it......... no matter if they were playing good music and putting on a great show.......... and they undeniably were........... still that does not mean they should get a pass on this NO PHOTOGRAPHY lark....... Why are they doing it?.........

They like to make out they are cool and chilled about everything......... mumbling on about right on stuff in amiable way from the stage and their website ......... they could at least make an effort to be chilled about a few pictures made by their fans .............

PS.......... I know...... its not much of a picture........ its on an iPhone........ and anyway........ its the principle of the thing.......... hehehehehe...............
