I have been searching through old material today on the NY servers looking for a couple of missing pics............. most of the day I've been listening to the BBC world service......... Its Human Rights Day....... so I have been hearing about the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to Liu Xiaobo. The head of the Nobel Prize committee placed the 2010 Peace Prize on the empty seat of Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo saying that he should not be in prison. .......... Liu Xiaobo's speech from his trial....... was read out today......... it really was particularly moving ......... but did not prevent him getting an 11 year prison sentence from the Chinese State ......... I have no pictures of Liu Xiaobo........ I haven't even got any of my China pictures on these servers......... I put empty chair into the search......... but really had nothing.......... so I put human rights campaign into the search ........... so here is Ayaan Hirsi Ali a human rights campaigner......... not the right one obviously............ but hey.............. here is another person risking everything to speak the truth in the field of human rights ......... a truth totally rejected by her own society........... sadly exactly the same as Liu Xiaobo's truth is currently rejected by the rulers of his society.

Cheers Jez XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

PS..........USA to Introduce LGBT Rights Resolution at the UN........ I know most people like to pretend that somehow the US is the main problem for human rights........ but of course in the real world the US is active to defend human rights ........ so I was glad to see today its UN diplomats were attempting to overcome the action of conservative religious diplomats from Africa and other places that have managed to remove reference to defending gay people against violence in UN human rights legislation. Today's new US resolution is aimed at prohibiting the violent targeting of people based on their sexual orientation.
