So much for NYC.......... I just landed at London Heathrow having flown through Philly and over night across the Atlantic......... cos all the direct flights were booked for Thanksgiving .............

It looks like those trapped New Zealand coal miners have all perished.......... a second blast seems to have dimmed all hope that they could still be alive down there.

I shot this watching a train leaving the mines of West Virginia full of coal that brings us electricity........ Coal we all use......... When we flick on the lights or charge up our iPhones........ even charge up our ever so green Prius cars.

I don't know Im just struck by how we take it all for granted....... the massive infrastructure invested in getting it........... and the struggle everyday on our behalf of ordinary men in giant holes in the ground.

I was hoping there could be another miracle and all those NZ miners would emerge unscathed just as the celebrated miners of Chile famously did earlier this year........ but apparently there is no longer any hope.
