My friend Laura Cumming's amazing TV show is gonna get its first airing on Thursday......... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vngl0 .......... this is an event worth staying in for (if you live in the UK)....... or at the very least learning how to use your recording apparatus or work out how to get it downloaded from the web.......... I think it was Laura's book on the subject of the artist's self portrait that first got me to make any selfportraits........ thats a mad pretentious thing to say....... but I think true...... you would think in this day of digital photography I'd have made a pile of self portraits ....... and seeing as I always have cameras you would think I would have made a fair few in the days of film........ but you know I hardly made any......... Im making an effort to catch up now......... but my tatty casual photos of myself should hardly be considered in the same vague genre never mind the same mega world class as the self portraits Laura is considering............ I've only seen the clips but I have been looking extensively at the book so I know this is going to be fab................ Go for it :-))...... watch the show and or get the book ........ :-)) XXXXXXXXXX
