Sorry I've disappeared off the screens for so long......... Im still hanging out in the Caribbean with no internet connections ..... which is sort of great......lets face it....... and sort of a bit of a hassle... Ive been desperately attempting to FTP or email some images up to now..........er..... its a long story.

Anyway above is a picture I shot in France immediately before I came out here. I was busy in France but I had a little bit of spare time. Maybe its because Im a European hanging out in the States....... I seemed to have missed old buildings, art and architecture.......the presence of living history.......the stuff you just take for granted when you live in England or France.........stuff you weren't aware you were missing at all.... until you see it again..........so it seems that old churches and cathedrals and castles seemed to have filled my spare time in France. This is taken in the Norman Collegiate church in the small ancient City of Vernon in Normandy itself about 50 miles outside of Paris.

The image is of an ancient painting of Jesus lit by light streaming through a beautiful stained glass window.

I shot this on a little Cannon SD550 which is a great little pocket camera. For what looks like....... and is really....... a tiny point and shoot camera........ it also has some great useful little controls to override the automatic settings........ like in this image it has allowed me to choose to expose for the high lights and of course to turn off the flash.........which really makes this shot work.
