Christopher Hitchens is unwell........... yeah news of his cancer reached me a couple of weeks back........ Then today I saw a photograph of him obviously having under gone Chemotherapy. I guess I only take stuff in truly...... after I have proper visual reinforcement .......

I hope he can recover from this but I understand his chances are slight........ In the past few years he has become a person I admire enormously . I loved "God is Not Great" the sheer audacity and unswerving follow through on that..... with his tour of the Deep South Bible belt in the US........ you got to admire that......... and I always admired his unflinching positions against all forms of fascism and totalitarianism........ the world will be a poorer place without more from him.................

I've met him a couple of times when he was holding court in some famed DC bars....... I shot this when he shared a platform with Ayaan Hirsi Ali ........ they were both fantastic, just extraordinary people........ Like I say I really hope he can defy the odds and pull through.........
