The American team scores the equalizer having been behind in their game against Slovenia. The US fans in the bar go crazy.

As I watched the passion and the frenzy and made this picture.......... I saw something immediately familiar but in the context of America totally alien............ familiar to me as a European......... these guys were just as obsessed and loving their football as much as any European even as much as any African or South American crazed fan............... as I said to the Irish guy next to me.......... 'its like the Americans they are finally starting to live on the same planet as the rest of us' ................ they are starting to live on planet football !

In truth, its not like every bar in Pittsburgh was full like this at 9 in the morning most people were at work probably unaware of the game ...... but this place Piper's Pub on the South Side is always jammed with soccer fans as they show all the big fixtures and is a Scottish/British style pub. But football is inexorably coming to the US... the greatest number of traveling fans at the world cup in South Africa came from the US........ Yeah its coming ...... Football is coming to America.

Anyway its lucky for us Brits that the referee made a very peculiar decision a few minutes later disallowing a third goal the US team clearly scored to give them the lead. The guys in the bar were ecstatic then incredulos........ but actually much better behaved than British fans would have been....... I could see no reason at all to disallow the goal but disallowed it was......... leaving the final score at 2 : 2.
