I am a supporter of Trade Union rights....... generally I am reasonably sympathetic to TU's trying to look after their members interests ....... but Unite the British Airways cabin staff Union seems to be like an old style TU determined to take their employers down with them........... today its announced all their 5 rolling weeks of strike action is back on or what ever it is they have planned........ BA had tried to use the courts to stop it and failed ......... suffice to say no one in their right mind should be booking on BA at the moment .......... oh yeah and today...... BA also announced an operating loss of more than 500 million pounds............ that does not take account of losses that are coming in now due to the volcano ash saga or obviously any of these coming strikes........ er......... its like they think BA is still government owned......... they might take a look at what's happening in the States.......... Unions in the 'legacy carriers' are allowing their work practices to change so as their companies can stay in business and not lay off too many people ......... those are your competitors guys......... negotiate hard by all means........... but strikes in this climate??????????

This is a picture I shot way back...... on the tarmac at Bogota International Airport Columbia........ this British Airways plane is being loaded with cut flowers before flying back to London....... cut flowers are/ were the highest earning export from Columbia at the time.......... well....... apart from cocaine obviously.
