Here is a picture of the yellow cabs piling up at LaGuardia ready to pick up passengers who have flown in and are ready to go home...... The passengers are lining up in an equally impressive line behind where I am shooting from......... I can't help feeling there could be a better, more efficient method of uniting the long suffering passengers with their yellow cab.
I shot this last night when T a great cab driver I met by chance completely unexpectedly offered to take me out to LGA. It was the end of the day..... about 10PM....... I was on the way home........ when he made the generous suggestion. I was tired and yet I immediately leapt at the invite. I love to be spontaneous just respond to the circumstance. I love it when out of nothing fab opportunities arise. It really fits my view of how reportage photography should be done. Im not really a planner........ Im a bit like 'The Joker' in one of those batman movies (Dark Knight?) ........."Plan?????........ Do I look like a planner?......... Im just a dog chasing a car!!"
Cheers Jez XXXXXXXXX
PS........ Almost seeming to prove just by taking all the opportunities that spontaneously present you can (almost) get away with ........ not planning........ Today as i was burning back into the City from Long Island the stars aligned the light was right..... all I had to do was stop....... and shoot an image I've been thinking about for a while........ well I ended up scooting about on the edge of a mega highway....... so it required a bit of crazed commitment too........ but primarily I just needed to stop and seize the chance....... I almost blew plans I'd made to meet a friend I was late late late of course ........ cos Im giving priority to going with the image opportunity......... not the plan....... but thats always my problem......... I probably should get some therapy :-)) ....... woof woof:-))
PPS..... I'll put the picture up tomorrow...... :-))
