Well this was joyous scene on Friday in DC as I opened the curtains on the dawn flight out of Atlanta HJ up to DCA.

I should have seen the ominous signs. I associate DC with clear blue skys never mind if its hot or cold ........ well ....... they have grim weather sometimes........ but it looked particularly grim.......... on this day as I dropped out of dazzling sun through the clouds into the greyness and rain below.

I was looking forward to judging the World Bank Photo contest. It was not a disappointment the standard of the entries was fantastic.......... and a truly outstanding set of images constituted the winners by the time the white smoke was heading up the chimney....... I'll let you have a link to them all by the time it is all announced.

Yeah the field of microfinance is not only worthy but makes great subject matter......... :-))

You know the whole day in DC was fab except I never did get to visit any friends from my days in DC except our friends at the World Bank of course........ oddly a friend from DC was trying to visit me in London the day I shot this in DC....... oh well....... and it really was just a rapid visit just long enough to be involved with the fantastic World Bank photo Contest.........

Did I say the whole day was fab?........... it really was ........ er........ except that bit where my computer was stolen............ breathe ...... breathe........ breathe........ I am not bitter....... I've recovered now....... breathe breathe.............. AAAAAAAAAAAggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................ hehehehehe................. I'm OK.......... yeah really I feel better for that.............

Its a bit of a drag having to fiddle about to make the new computer function with all the programs that I need............and have all the pass word combinations to connect connect blah blah......... well Im getting there after a short Radio silence......... yeah....... I am sorry about the radio silence of the last day or so........... Im about to restart......... 'This is London repeat This is London........... London calling over?' ........ Well Im back up and broadcasting !!!!!!!!!! .......... hehehehehehe.................. The JezC laptop is dead !!!!!!!!!!! Long live the JezC Laptop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
