Im Wheels down at London Heathrow ..... with the emphasis on the down.........

Yeah Im depressed...... I got my iphone stolen at JFK....... on the plane....... how useless is that........

I've survived some of the most hostile places on earth dragging about $20,000 of camera gear and other expensive junk........ without losing any....... well hardly anything........

Now Im in the habit of losing expensive stuff pretty well every time I take a flight from Atlanta to New York City (remember the laptop)....... its enough to do your brains in......... I put the phone on the seat while I got down my bag and put away my laptop....... I look round its not there but i assume I must have put it in a pocket or something....... meantime the guy next to me is making a very rapid exit...... by the time I am waking up to the fact I really don't have it....... he is gone......... amateur hour.......

To be honest I am a little less on the ball to looking after gear and kit in America........ America does not have the same problem with theft and burglary as Britain....... generally you can relax people are not gonna take that half a chance to grab your iphone......... in the UK stuff gets nicked much more often.......... and of course other places are worse again........

I am depressed with myself......... this kind of thing damages my own image of myself......... I am depressed I cannot ring people and text and generally fiddle about online........ but I am also depressed for that guy........ fancy living your life like that......... man... that really was only half a chance and in a place where it is tricky to get away......... i guess you just claim its an accident if caught......... sure he gets the iphone....... but he also gets to be that guy............ how depressing is that.

So now I have to survive a working weekend in London without my iphone........ not so bad I guess........ some elements of my old style operational readiness survive......... I have a spare phone........ not an iphone but hey.......

I shot the above picture out of the Delta terminal at Heathrow while moping about in a depressed state.

Its now 7-30AM London Time....... whole day to go....... little bit tired........
